Welcome to our shop

Mount Joy Gift & Thrift

Mount Joy Gift and Thrift is one of more than 100 stores in United States and Canada that exist to support the worldwide ministry of Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) in relief and development. The store is dependent on donations of used clothing and household items from the community. We sell nothing on consignment.

Mount Joy Gift and Thrift began in Mount Joy in July 1977 as the Mount Joy Re-Uzit Shop in a rented building at 50 East Main Street.

In 1977 we began with 50 volunteers. Today we have about 170 volunteers who serve as cashiers, sorters, pricers, and receivers.

From opening in 1977 until now, Mount Joy Gift and Thrift has given more than 5.5 million dollars to MCC!

Items on Silent Auction change frequently, so stop in and take a look. We offer a wide variety of items through Silent Auction such as antiques, collectibles, handbags, artwork, furs and much more!

You can place a bid with the date, your name and phone number or a bidder number. All bids must increase by at least $1. We do accept phone bids. Items are sold as is and your bid is your promise to pay. After 6 business days with no bid, the highest bidder will be notified to come to the store to purchase the item. Tax is not included in the bid. Auction items must be picked up within 10 business days, unless special arrangements are made.

We have various 50% off sales each week. In addition, each Friday evening from 5 – 8pm all items that do not have a price ending in .99 are half price.

Come celebrate 4th Friday in Mount Joy!
